Our AI philosophy: WellVoye uses artificial intelligence as a tool to enhance your wellness journey — not to replace human judgment or medical expertise. We are committed to transparency about how AI works within the app, what data it accesses, and the safeguards we have in place.
This AI & Data Policy explains how WellVoye uses artificial intelligence to generate wellness coaching, what data is shared with AI systems, how we protect your privacy during AI processing, and what safety measures are built into our AI pipeline. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
WellVoye uses a multi-provider AI architecture to deliver the best possible coaching experience:
Used for nuanced wellness coaching conversations, trend analysis, and personalized recommendations. Claude excels at thoughtful, safety-conscious responses.
Used for complementary coaching capabilities, alternative perspectives, and specific wellness analysis tasks.
Used for local processing tasks that do not require cloud connectivity. On-device models enable real-time insights without sending any data to external servers.
If a cloud AI provider is unavailable, WellVoye automatically falls back to alternative providers or on-device deterministic coaching algorithms. This ensures you always receive guidance, even without an internet connection.
When generating personalized coaching, the AI may receive:
What AI never receives: Your name, email address, phone number, exact GPS location, photos, contacts, social security numbers, financial information, or any other personally identifiable information. All data is sanitized before AI processing.
Before any data is sent to an external AI provider, WellVoye applies a multi-layered sanitization process:
This sanitization happens entirely on your device before any data leaves the app. The AI providers never receive unsanitized data.
WellVoye implements a 6-rule AI safety filter that governs all AI-generated responses. Every output from the AI is evaluated against these rules before being shown to you:
The AI will never diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatments, or claim to replace professional healthcare advice.
The AI will not suggest extreme diets, dangerous exercise regimens, or any activities that could cause physical harm.
Recommendations are grounded in established health guidelines from recognized organizations (ACSM, NSF, WHO, EFSA).
The AI is trained to respond with empathy, especially around topics like weight, body image, and mental health.
The AI stays within its wellness coaching scope and will redirect conversations that fall outside its expertise.
The AI identifies itself as an AI coach and does not pretend to be a human or a medical professional.
WellVoye maintains data provenance tracking, which means we record:
This allows us to audit AI outputs for quality and safety, and to quickly address any issues with specific providers or model versions.
You have full control over how AI is used in your WellVoye experience:
WellVoye's agreements with AI providers include the following protections:
When AI services are unavailable or when you choose to disable AI, WellVoye provides deterministic coaching based on:
This ensures you always receive valuable guidance regardless of AI availability.
We are committed to continuously improving our AI safety and privacy practices. This includes:
We may update this AI & Data Policy as our AI capabilities evolve. Material changes will be communicated through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
